TIPS FOR EAMCET ---2009

" People appreciate those who make impossible things possible''.

If you want to succeed you should strike out on new paths rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success", saysSAI BABA REDDY, thE COVENOR OF EAMCET. He adds, " One should follow a strategic way at answering the questions in EAMCET. Students have to discover the true potential and get what they want out of the given questions. Answering is in their hands. They can shape it into a success by applying logical methodology". Talking to Vikas times on tips to succeed in EAMCET Mr. Naga Prasad gives a phase wise tips to the students. Students should follow a sequence in choosing the subjects to be answered like, chemistry, Physics, Maths for those attempting engineering and Biology - Chemistry - Physics for medicine. One should be cool and stress free before and during the examination. In the first phase all the well known questions should be answered and darken the same in the oval with a pencil immediately . Here, students should have to strictly follow is, not to write the number of the right choice in the margin or mark the same in the question paper and fill the ovals later. In case of students going against this will be loosing their valuable time because of which they may feel nervous and in tension mark the wrong oval. In the second phase the students have to attempt the doubtful questions. At this juncture, one can eliminate wrong answers confidently. Students have to identify the right answer only after, going through all the options given under multiple choice. Time management is the most important factor that determines the success in EAMCET. Students should plan the time from the beginning in such a way that they should spend 54 seconds on each question and 6 seconds for cross checking, i.e., spending more than 1 minute on each question is not at all advisable. Students should not waste their time in thinking about the unknown answers. Move on to the next one. In the third phase the students should deal with the unknown answers to the questions given. Here, as these are no minus marks for wrong answering there is no other way except marking them on " lottery basis". This method may help in gaining some more marks. Even in this method one particular way of answering may be more profitable, i.e., instead of choosing the option in vague out of the given choices A/B/C/D, mark only one option, i.e., either A or B or C or D, preferably B or C. The students should be thorough with every word in the text books as even minor points can be framed as questions. It would be helpful if they form the questions on their own based on the facts in the text book. Mr. Naga Prasad advises the students to follow Telugu Academy books as most of the questions are given from these. He also adds, " Over emphasis on any one particular subject is not at all advisable and all the subjects should be given equal importance. The students are cautioned about the present EAMCET system and the remarks of the convener EAMCET 2001 and asked them not to worry, as the paper will not be out of syllabus. Finally, Mr. Nagaprasad enlightened the students to be aware of growing competition. They have to identify their needs, set realistic goals, motivate themselves to achieve these goals with passion, enthusiasm and excitement, think their way to success ( EAMCET) using the techniques taught at Vikas.
