This year counselling for eamcet has taken a new pattern of seat allotment...counselling for both reserved and open category is done at the same time..theryby cutting down the counselling time drastically. As per the new software designed if a reserved category student occupies a seat in open category and then opts for a better seat in reserved category then the seat he occupied under open category gets cancelled. The same seat which he left in the open category now is given to the person of same category irrespective of rank for example if a BC candidate with a rank of 500 optsa seat in open category and then shifts to a better college in the reserved category for BC ,the seat which he opted in open category will be deleted and will not go for 501th rank holder, but will go to the next BC candidate irrespective of their rank.
